In recent years, China's sports industry has made great progress, sports reform has been comprehensively deepened, the level of sports public services has been continuously improved, national fitness has developed vigorously, competitive sports have made remarkable achievements, and the sports industry is growing day by day. However, the unbalanced and insufficient development of sports in China is still prominent, which can not meet the diversified and multi-level sports needs of the people, and there is a certain gap compared with the requirements of building a world sports power. In order to further clarify the theoretical basis of sports power and clarify the problem orientation, on the afternoon of October 22, 2021, the humanities and sports research base of Peking University and the sports teaching and Research Department of Peking University held the sports power sub forum of the 8th Peking University Humanities and sports high level forum at Yingjie exchange center, so as to promote academic exchanges and help the government make decisions. Professor Bao Mingxiao analyzed the challenges faced by the strategic goal of building a sports power, and pointed out that sports development is closely related to the development of the times. To build a sports power, we should coordinate the overall strategic situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes not seen in the second world in a century; It is emphasized that sports development must rely on effective coordination with the external environment, as well as cooperation and communication with other departments, other organizations and. Director Xue Yuan analyzed the connotation and development of sports power from the perspective of media. Director Xue sincerely said: "it is the responsibility of the media to build consensus for the construction of a sports power; at the same time, it is also our concern to start from more problem-oriented awareness and promote it in depth." Professor Dong Jinxia made a report entitled the relationship between women's sports and a sports power, proposing to establish a life-cycle concept of women's sports development, Establish and improve the sports management system suitable for the needs of the times, pay attention to the construction of community sports, tap and improve women's Sports Leadership, create opportunities and conditions for women's sports practice as much as possible, eliminate ideas and social bad habits that discriminate against women, and let women give full play to their potential.

After the expert report, Professor Bao Mingxiao, together with Professor Zhong BINGSHU, former president of Capital Institute of physical education and Professor Qiu Zhaoyi of Beijing University of physical education, carried out a round table dialogue with the theme of "opportunities and challenges for China to become a sports power" under the chairmanship of Professor Zhang Jianhui of Renmin University of China. Professor Zhong BINGSHU said that only by clarifying how to absorb the best culture in the world and how to break through the obstacles of system and mechanism can we truly realize the sports power. Professor Bao Mingxiao pointed out that as a national behavior, sports power needs sports awareness in the minds of all walks of life, especially the main government officials and leaders of all units. To build a sports power, we should take a path of institutional mechanism and China's development. Professor Qiu Zhaoyi mentioned that in order to truly realize sports power and become a power in ice and snow sports, it is necessary to create a new way of life and culture, improve China's sports culture and form a real sports power under the leadership of the government.
